All That Glitters Is Gold: Wedding Style for the Glitteratzis

Wednesday is with us, but lets just pretend the weekend is a little closer by gawking at these stunning pics. This styled shoot is featured in QB Spring 2013, but we couldn't fit in all the pictures we wanted! Luckily our blog has no such limitations. This shoot fits in perfectly with this week's glittery gold theme, we think you'll be able to see why ...

As seen in Queensland Brides Spring 2013

A regal colour palette of gold, cream and touches of deep emerald sets the tone for this luxurious affair. Subtle references to the opulence of the 20s are juxtaposed against a modern tropical Queensland garden for a wedding full of decadence and frivolity.

STYLING: Stylist Nicole Ritchie from Beautiful Weddings describes the set up as "a completely glamorous look". Gold tiffany chairs are highlighted by soft ivory tassels, presided over by a prominent feather-adorned arch featuring a baroque-style gold heart, which Nicole explains is used to represent "old money and wealth". The dessert table, which features 24 carat edible gold finishes, combines crisp white with all that glitters - encrusted cylindrical vases containing white roses are a simple yet effective addition.

BEAUTY: Giulia Ponticello, who transformed the shoot's model into a sultry goddess, used "dark, smokey heavily-lined eyes" and "cheeks rouged in reds and pinks" to achieve the popular 20s look. A Wendy Makin headpiece, encrusted with crystals, pearls, tulle and feathers, completed the gorgeous vintage vision.
