Real Life Wedding : Nicholas and Katherine

"Stick with your everyday style" note couple Katherine and Nicholas when asked about their best styling advice. We love the way this true-to-self approach injected style and personality into this gorgeous celebration.

To pull it off the couple made the most of Brisbane's local talent including gowns by covetable label Easton Pearson, decorating assistance from Brisbane-based stylists Everingham and Watson, and delicious gourmet catering by Restaurant Two

The newlyweds name "the ceremony" as their most special memory in a celebration full of magical moments.

Introducing Queensland Brides Spring 2013!

Woohoo! This Thursday is more exciting then your average Thursday here at QB. Our brand-spanking-new issue is out today: Queensland Brides Spring 2013! Have a glimpse HERE at what's inside.

If you have already got your issue you'll have noticed the TEN beautiful real life weddings in the mag.

We thought, for those who haven't seen them yet, that we'd share one of our favourites with you.

This is the wedding of Stacey and Nick ...

A visit to the Queensland Brides Wedding Expo proved to be very fortuitous for Nick and Stacey Donald, who had only been engaged for six weeks when they won a dream destination wedding at Nikko Resort and Spa, Nusa Dua Bali courtesy of Bali Weddings International. As Stacey says “If we had any concerns in relation to an overseas wedding, we need not have worried. We wanted a close personal and intimate wedding with a beach theme and feel. Megan from Bali Weddings International had everything under control.”

The Wedding & Honeymoon
Bali – exotic destination, set on the beach at the Nikko Resort and Spa.With 5 star facilities, a dining experience set for royalty and a chocolate massage at Mandara spa, we spent 3 days in complete luxury in the seventh heaven honeymoon room before heading to KindVilla Bintang resort for 5 days of poolside bar and sun. Both resorts should be proud of their staff and facilities.

Date: 19 February 2013
Number of guests: 25

How they met:
Stacey and Nick met at McDonald’s. Nick is a Police Officer and Stacey was a McDonald’s manager at the time. Nick would regularly visit her store and Stacey would make him a coffee and a cheeseburger. They quickly struck up a friendship and they say the rest is history.

The Proposal:
This was a complete surprise for Stacey. After organising a night out for dinner to celebrate 5 years of being together, Nick called Stacey to the bedroom and asked if she would like to wear an extra piece of jewellery to dinner, at this time Stacey appeared a little confused as Nick presented her with a diamond ring and asked her to marry him.

Stacey says, "Start your day with breakfast and a massage, Stay in a cool environment, take your time and be as relaxed as you can. Keep emotional people out of the room!"

Special Memory:
Having fireworks at the reception that were lit when the cake was cut - a surprise to all their guests.

The couple would like to thank:
Megan Sandiarta from Bali Weddings International,Tracy Cosgriff fromTravel Managers, Nikko Resort and Spa, KindVilla Bintang Resort, Queensland Brides Wedding Expo and all our family and guests who attended our wedding.

Advice for other brides-to-be:
Embrace every moment of your day. Surround yourself with true friends (and just let your bridesmaid freak out, that’s part of her job anyway).
