The Wedding Collective presents the Gala Showcase 2013

This year has been ALL about the 1920s and Gatsby styling, and why not? It's absolutely stunning! Coming up is another tribute to the vintage style as The Wedding Collective host their 2013 wedding showcase gala.

The event, hosted by Kimberley Busteed of Channel 7, will cover all aspects of wedding planning. There's a major-prize draw to be won, and a glance at George Wu's latest collection.

Last week we gave away two double passes to the upcoming extravaganza. We chose our winners based on their one-word descriptions of the vision of their wedding.

We had many memorable responses, but our winners were:

Belinda Helen with "Fun"
and
Katrina Borg with "Mittsommernachtstraum" (German for Mid-Summer night's dream)

Have a peek at the Milque Wedding Industry Lunch

Ever wondered what wedding professionals get up to in their (very rare) spare time? They lunch. And they lunch in style! A group of Queensland's most creative wedding professionals recently grabbed some time out between appointments to enjoy an elegant industry lunch event, hosted by Natalie and Michael at Milque Photography. Converging on Fortitude Valley venue Lightspace in their midday finery, the 32-strong guest list was greeted by luxe styling from Styled Events and gorgeous florals by Bouquet Boutique. Live music courtesy of Rush Entertainment set the scene before the main event was served – a beautifully prepared three-course lunch, catered by Dalton Hospitality.

With Champagne and conversation flowing it was a welcome chance for this hard-working bunch to catch up – and to be pampered for a change. As a final treat, guests took home a pink gift bag of lush goodies, including a complimentary spa treatment at the Thai Foot Spa on James Street, which Michael names as "one of my favourite places in the world."
