Kiah and Scott: Africa and Mauritius
Scott and I had different ideas for our honeymoon. I wanted to do something adventurous with spectacular landscape whereas Scott’s idea of a honeymoon was to lie on a beach with the bar in easy reach. So our solution was three weeks of touring South Africa and Victoria Falls and a safari before a relaxing stay on Mauritius.

After all the excitement of the wedding we arrived in South Africa to a four-day tour of Cape Town. Our next stop was Victoria Falls Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe, overlooking a waterhole where we would watch the amazing sunsets and wild animals. We then spent the next couple of days walking with lions, riding elephants, walking and flying over Victoria Falls, a sunset cruise up the Zambeze River and a traditional ‘Boma’ dinner. Taking a short plan ride into Sabi Sand Reserve, within the great Kruger National Park, we then arrived at our tented bungalow in the Savanna Private Game Reserve to find a romantic hot bubble bath and arrival drinks! Our guide Patrick helped us see all the animals on our wish list and a lot more, and made us feel part of the Savanna ‘family’.

After a couple of days in Johannesburg we finally flew onto Mauritius to relax on one of many private beaches, enjoy water sports, sail and snorkel. The last night we booked a romantic dinner at the restaurant and spent the night reminiscing about our adventure. We cannot recommend a safari/beach honeymoon enough.
