QB Loves : French Provincial Winter Wedding Inspiration!

QB has some warm and fuzzy mid week styling inspiration for you!  Take your wedding inspiration from the romance of the French countryside. Think Bordeaux-inspired vineyard locale; oak tables laden with French cheeses; ornate antique candelabras and decadent crystal goblets; custom stationery with handwritten messages in pen and ink; and deep wintery tones of russet and apricot.

Stationery notes:
Invitation Station - Cara Marie Designs
• Invitations were made using bark, cork paper and recycled paper, bringing in a wax seal and ribbon for closure.
• ‘Paris’ coasters: made from thick cork backing layers, with maps of Paris on the front
• Wine bottle table names, with cork wrapped around the bottle and then a layer of stock with table names on one side and who was seated at the table on the reverse
• Guest names were attached on the crystal glasses with delicate chains.
• Cork rounds to sit on the glass charger plates where grapes, cheese and crackers ‘welcome’ the guests and immerse them in the Southern French Winery feel
• Create for wine bottles outside for guests to also find their tables

Flowers notes:
Susan from the Butterfly Lounge
For the reception area: Tables full of Amber and Areeba Roses alongside Orange Columbian Roses, Magnolia Foliage, Intense Orange Spray Rose, Tea Tree Flowers and Privet Berries.

Friday I'm in Love: Thai the Knot!

Real Life Destination Wedding :: Meet Brendan & Maria, the couple who recently jumped on a jet plane headed for Thailand and made their destination wedding dream come true! QB had all the right questions for the pair, if you are considering a destination wedding ... read on!

Why did you opt for a destination wedding?
We decided on a destination wedding to avoid pressures of having it at home, and to keep within our budget.

How did your friends and family react?
Friends loved the idea, and were so excited about having a holiday. The parents were a little more reserved as they don’t tend to travel much and were a little worried - that changed as soon as they landed in Phuket, and were delighted with our decision.

How long did it take to plan?
We booked 12 months before, and there wasn’t too much planning as they did most of the work for us, all via email. Small tasks were completed in the week we

How did your venue help with your planning?
They were absolutely awesome! They arranged flowers, photographer, catering, cake, bonbonniere, dry-cleaning of my dress, music in the chapel ... really it’s more a question of, “what didn’t they do?”

How many guests and where did they stay?
We had 50 guests in total, and the majority stayed at hotels within the Laguna Resort complex, most at the Dusit Thani.

Anything you would have done differently?
The only thing we can think of is taking an esky to the chapel - boy did we need a beer! And fireworks would have been fun.

Did you have any pre-ceremony entertainment or activities?
Yes, we caught up for dinner with most of our guests, and had a boys’ day out, and a ladies’ dinner as well. It was all so wonderful.

Describe your reception ...
The reception was stunning, the flowers gorgeous, the beach setting unbelievable, and the staff at Casuarina Restaurant at the Dusit Thani were amazing!

Very handsome groom and groomsmen!

Your wedding highlight?
It would have to be sharing our time with all of our close family and friends, and that there was not a dry eye in the chapel, it was simply beautiful.

Any advice for couples planning a similar wedding?
Do it! It’s a little scary at first because you may not feel in control, but you are and it is so worth it!

QB Loves : Laura + Dean

Happy Monday QB readers! We are kicking off the week with a gorgeous wedding with a fresh green twist! Victorian-based couple Dean and Laura couldn't resist returning to Noosa, the scene of Dean's proposal, to say 'I do'. We adore their palette of chic monochrome with green accents.

Proposal Story:
I was heavily pregnant and we flew to Noosa for a wedding.Dean knew Noosa was very special to me because I grew up there, he was going to propose on the second night at Little Cove (my favourite beach) but was too excited, so after dinner and my favourite ice cream (Masimos) we went for a walk along the beach where he asked me to marry him! It was so special because there was no one else on the beach!

The Arrival:
Guests were led to the ceremony site by my wedding planners and a series of 'Laura and Dean' signs, protected with parasols and refreshed with iced San Pellegrino water from enormous wine barrels. Then a live band played Somewhere over the Rainbow as the couple glided down the aisle.

Styling Notes:
On arrival, guests were treated to an oyster bar, with chefs on hand to shuck the oysters fresh and peel prawns, and the fun continued inside with a photo booth complete with a dress-up box of wigs and masks. Attention to detail extended all the way to the bathrooms where mints, fresh flowers and luxurious AESOP products created a relaxing haven.

The reception was awash with white flowers of every description and candles in glass jars adorned the tree outside. "We also used over 50 hanging candles over the bridal table and had a total of 200 candles on the tables," recalls Laura. It was so special because the flowers smelled amazing and it was like a soft glow the restaurant." A costume change into a floaty Carla Zampatti gown for the first dance was the bride's final flourish. "We danced to Usher's OMG," Laura says. "It was fun and funky!"

Just Married x

Advice:
Get a wedding planner! They know all the best suppliers and you will be so relaxed on the day!

Special Memory:
On the morning of the wedding Dean's best man Troy, delivered the most amazing drop pearl and diamond earring to me, with a beautiful card saying how excited he is to be marrying me today!  The earrings were hand made by our jeweller Simon West! I did not expect it at all!

Vendors:
Ceremony: Noosa Woods Park

Coordinator: Events of Noosa
Flowers: Mondo Floral Designs
Photography: Davel Photography
Honeymoon: Bali

Thank you so much to Laura + Dean for sharing your gorgeous day! (We just adore the fresh green highlights!)

P.S > Bride Laura was so inspired by her wedding day, she started her own super cute Wedding Blog! Chcek it out here > http://weddingsofdesire.blogspot.com

Have a lovely week! QB x
