Summer is almost here and we're very happy to introduce our Summer 2013-14 issue of Queensland Brides! This issue is all about creative ideas for your something old, something borrowed, and something blue. Head to your local newsagent to grab your copy! Psst the digitial edition will be out shortly - check QB Facebook for updates.
So it’s summer in the sunshine state and wedding season is definitely in full swing. The stats tell us October is the most popular month to get hitched in Australia but from our experience summertime is when the proposal stories, engagement updates and wedding photos really start flowing in. So congratulations if you have just said ‘I will’ or ‘I do!’
Trends and traditions are on our radar this issue. A ‘something old’ swatch of lace; a ‘something new’ pair of heels, a ‘something borrowed’ antique locket; or a ‘something blue’ hydrangea bouquet all hit the mark if you want to add depth and meaning to your day. And with couples now more confident than ever about creating a bespoke occasion, we love the modern take on tradition – mixing it up with fresh trend or two.
Which is where our Next Big Thing trends forecast comes in – preview the creative ideas and general cool stuff to hit bridal land in 2014 on page 239. Speaking of cool stuff (or maybe hot stuff) our groom’s shoot is simmering with suave summer looks on page 71.Then step back into the land of
tulle and silk and get star ted on your entr y for our Win a Designer Gown competition on page 83.You could be walking down the aisle in a dreamy, made-to-measure Elizabeth de Varga Exclusive Fashions gown.
In keeping with a warm-weather vibe we put a spotlight on the Gold Coast & Hinterland this issue - we even shot our gorgeous jewellery feature on one of its enviable beaches. Find everything you need to plan a GC celebration with all the trimmings on page 165.
Finally, we’re already excited about sharing next issue with you. It’s our birthday! Celebrate with us as we look back over 30 years of wedding bliss and showcase the very latest in bridal fashion from the Queensland Brides Design Awards. Can’t wait!
