Some words from our lovely leader, Editor Nicole Deuble!

"Welcome to our QB Style Issue, positively brimming with fabulous fashion, bang-on-trend styling inspiration and a showcase of reception venues where you can let the well-heeled festivities begin.

Lots and lots of gorgeous gowns are usually enough to pique my interest but this issue we’ve also tracked down some of the state’s most talented designers to find out what makes them tick. Step inside their beautiful showrooms and discover everything from what inspires them to what’s spinning on their workroom music playlist in our Behind the Seams feature (p.127). Very revealing.

Many modern couples are going beyond the conventional and creating an incredibly personal and wedding ‘event’. This usually starts with a concept or idea that is imbued with meaning (or full of fun) for the bride and groom and then the gathering together of the perfect professionals to pull off a dream day. This issue we’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the state’s most creative stylists and wedding professionals who have hand-picked the trends and pooled their skills to create ten pages of gorgeous Style File features, starting on page 115. Take your pick from Spring Soiree, Pink & Gold, Marrakech at Dusk, Botanical Sanctuary and Lace.

Deputy Editor Melissa Reynolds has also worked her crystal ball magic with her own seasonal preview (starting page 231) exploring some of styles we can look forward to in the coming months. It looks like The Great Gatsby is going to be one huge influence – can’t wait for Baz Luhrmann’s movie adaptation. With 2012/13 looking decadent and eclectic, there truly is something for everyone.

I’ve also loved reading some of the very personal stories this issue: the unique wedding journey of twin sisters in Two Strong Hearts; the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants-inspired tale of five couples who shared one bamboo arbour to make their celebrations complete in Centrepiece of Attention; and 13 very different and very wonderful Real Life Weddings. You have to check out the preppy-fabulous celebration of Angus and Leah on page 260. Love it!

Finally, you must remember to enter our fabulous competition on page 113 (Enter online here : http://www.queenslandbrides.com.au/win/emporium-hotel-queensland-brides-exquisite-wedding-competition ). There are TWO chances to win $5000 towards a glamorous Emporium reception. If you’ve never visited this luxurious boutique hotel in Brisbane’s chic Fortitude Valley, it’s a must see. The 100-year-old stained glass, which once hung as a Parisian shop window, and glittering German chandelier alone are worth the trip – just imagine having your wedding there ... Best wishes for all your wedding preparations. - Nicole Deuble"
