Real Life Wedding : Josh + Brittany

Did you know, that on the Queensland Brides website is a collection of real life weddings? And they come direct from you!

Here is on of QB's favourite real life wedding couples, Josh and Brittany, who had a classic themed wedding with a touch of vintage. Aren't they a gorgeous couple?

Here's their story:

How Josh and Brittany Met
Josh was the breakfast personality on a Gold Coast radio station and Britt enjoyed his show, so much so, that when she returned from a holiday overseas and found him not on the radio she sent him a Facebook message asking what happened!

The number one rule in radio is that you never date a listener, but Josh was a bit of a rebel and asked Britt out to get to know her. He made one big boo boo on that first "date" though, he thought it was "just friends" and Britt thought it was a date. So when Josh asked to split the bill Britt was shocked and gave him the nickname "Split the bill Josh" and it still sticks today! Four years later, Josh redeemeed himself and they began a long distance relationship from Port Macquarie to the Gold Coast.

Proposal
Josh was on a summer Breakfast radio show in Cairns and Britt surprised him by flying up for the weekend. After checking out all of the local sights, a great dinner on the Cairns esplanade and a walk on the boardwalk, Josh asked the cute question "Will you stay with me?" to which Britt responded "You'll have to ask a better question than that!". So Josh got on one knee, and proposed!

What Made the Wedding Uniquely 'Ours'

We styled it 100% ourselves so that it reflected our personalities. From the wedding favours (mixtape CDs that contained the soundtrack to our wedding) to the vintage crates at the wedding ceremony that are now in our bedroom, the whole day was 100% Britt and Josh.

D.I.Y.
Almost all of the details at the ceremony and the reception were DIY by Britt. She has amazing style and spends hours on Pinterest and other websites finding great ideas and making them her own.

Funniest Moment
Two days before the wedding everyone assembled at the Botanical Gardens for a rehearsal. Right where we wanted the ceremony to be was a council water tanker. Josh was tasked with contacting the council to request it be moved before the wedding, which he did, and the council moved it as requested.

On the day of the wedding Gemma, a bridesmaid called Josh to make sure he had looked after the water tanker issue. Josh responded by saying he had simply covered it with a big sheet and no-one would notice it.After an hour of talking, worrying, tears and stress, Gemma calls back to gently recommend that the tanker be moved.

Special Memory
We try to make every day a special memory, so we never take our relationship, our love, our marriage for granted.

Special Thanks
Special thanks to Britt's parents for hosting the reception and helping out with soooo much and to our bridal party, they are our best friends and biggest helps.

Advice / Comments
Two things, don't let the day get taken away from you by family, traditions, money or suppliers. Hold on to the day with both hands. Secondly, enjoy it. The day is there for you to enjoy.
