Bayside Pampering
A happy bride-to-be is a relaxed and pampered one. So, for a welcome escape from wedding stress, grab the girls or your betrothed and check out the new Stephanies Vintage Spa Cleveland. Formerly known as L’Plunge home & Spa, this fresh offering combines the old-world charms of the landmark 1852 Queenslander (think luxe, shabby chic interiors and a French Provincial-inspired courtyard) with the European style and decadent therapies synonymous with the Stephanie’s spa brand.

Comprising of a retail spa boutique, dedicated Medi Spa quarter, eight treatment suites and a vintage-inspired lounge, complete with numerous open fireplaces, guests can enjoy private one-on-one treatments, hens or spa parties, or romantic couple’s escapes. Stephanies Vintage Spa, 200 Middle Street Cleveland.

Summer Forecast
Samantha Hayes-St Clair and good friend and business partner Kelly Starr of Amini Concepts, first started Epic Empire furniture to provide luxury boutique furniture hire for special events, including weddings. Their experienced team is available for consultations and can provide access to stunning and luxurious hire furniture options to help you transform your ceremony and venue spaces.

Samantha forecasts two very distinct trends for summer:
  1. Natural furniture with botanical styling. To achieve this look, Samantha recommends raw pallet bars and timber bentwood chairs accented by fresh green shrubbery and florals.
  2. ‘Lounge destinations’ for guests to retreat to following dinner. Feature lounge settings make a statement and also look stunning in photos.

Regardless of your theme, Samantha says furniture should always be complementary, and at cocktail-style weddings the rule of thumb is to ensure half your guests have access to seating throughout the evening. Epic Empire can cater for all your furniture hire needs to suit any wedding with both contemporary and antique offerings including lounges, ottomans, dry bars, pews, bentwood chairs and other accessories. enquiries@epicempire.com.au

Intimate Weddings Gain Favour

At QB we’ve noticed intimate weddings are rapidly gaining popularity, especially in the hinterland areas. With a tightly-edited guest list of under 100, many couples relish the opportunity to create their ultimate dream day, complete with plenty of customised, personal details and just the right location.

One of the venues that has seen this trend unfold first hand is Flaxton Gardens, one of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s most sought after wedding venues. Recognising the growing demand for intimate celebrations, proprietors Alan and Georgina Thompson have recently added a beautiful gazebo to the grounds in front of the original homestead as well as opened their award-winning restaurant to couples planning a bespoke wedding celebration for up to 60 guests. Offering tailor- made packages including a la carte dining options, Flaxton Gardens is now the perfect venue for an intimate wedding celebration. 07 5445 7450 info@flaxtongardens.com.au
